Apple Accessibility Events Around NDIS

Down here in Australia weโ€™ve got the NDIS New World: Disability in the 21st Century conference coming up โ€“ itโ€™s at the Brisbane Conference & Exhibition Centre during October 27 โ€“ 29 2015 and I am envious of all who are able to attend! There are also an Apple Technology House at the conference, and more Apple retail store events than you can shake a stick at

As part of that conference Apple will be hosting a โ€œtechnology houseโ€ โ€“ a purpose-built interactive exhibit designed to showcase the latest accessible technologies. Split into five zones, the house demonstrates how assistive devices, apps and accessories can help you do more around the home and office. Apple Ambassadors will be on hand to explain how these technologies can transform the experience of a person who has accessibility needs.

But thatโ€™s not all: Every single Apple Retail Store in Australia will be holding an Accessibility Workshop on Saturday the 31st of October at 9:30am!

If youโ€™re interested in attending any of these workshops, hereโ€™s what you need to do:

  1. Go to Apple Australia Retail Stores Page
  2. Select the Store that youโ€™re interested in
  3. Scroll down the page to โ€œUpcoming Store Events and Workshopsโ€ and scroll down to October 31
  4. Follow the โ€œReserveโ€ link to reserve a spot for the workshop youโ€™re interested in

And if thatโ€™s not enough, thereโ€™s also going to be an event by David Woodbridge โ€“ Senior Adaptive Technology Consultant at Vision Australia โ€“ in Brisbane at 5pm on the 29th of October. David will share his story, and discuss how technology is changing the lives of people with low vision and blindness.
