ATSA 2021 Independent Living Expo – Ready for You This May

Throughout mid to late May you can visit the ATSA Independent Living Expo, where you will find solutions to all those challenges and more! Better yet, it’s free to attend.

In Melbourne – 18-19 May – there are more than 140 exhibitors displaying products and offering services to cover many needs. In Perth – 26-27 May – there are 75-plus companies ready to answer your questions. Also note that ATSA 2021 will also be held in Canberra in October this year.

In addition to the exciting innovation and new products on display this year, ATSA 2021 has a very strong seminar program and they are all available for free. You just need to pre-register.

The diversity in the seminar program is set to be very engaging, from the practical to the informative there is something for everyone. Due to COVID safe practices seating is more limited than usual – remember to book early! 

When you pre-register you not only receive free access, you receive free parking and a coffee. You can also rest assured knowing all COVID safe plans are in place.

And for those in the industry, remember you can gain CPD points from attending.

First-time presenters at ATSA 2021 include Helen Lindner and Lisa Vale from Mobility and Accessibility for Children in Australia (MACA). They will be covering “High Standards: An overview of the standards, products and practices that promote safe restraint options for Australian children with disability and medical conditions travelling in motor vehicles”.

Further, first-time presenter Dr Marilyn Di Stefano from Road Safety Victoria will discuss “Motorised Mobility Device use: Interventions to enhance user safety”; Dr Theresa Harada, Research Fellow, University of Wollongong, will be talking about “Electric Wheelchairs and Mobility Scooters In the Wild: Users’ Resilience and Innovation”; and Rebecca Bateson and Rachel Croome from the Therapeutic Goods Administration will also be presenting for the first time, on “Changes to the regulation of assistive technology – An update from the TGA on the latest regulatory changes impacting the assistive technology sector”.

Other speakers include: Tracee-lee Maginnity, Permobil Australia; Craig Slattery, Para Mobility; Amin Akbarian, Mobility Engineering; Stewart Andrews, Quantum Reading Learning Vision; Amy Bjornson, Sunrise Medical; Rachel Fabiniak, Permobil Australia; and Lauren Hunter, Linds Rehabilitation Equipment.
